Semta, as one of the largest Sector Skills Councils, has a
strong relationship with UK governments and its officials. The
purpose of such representation is to ensure the skills needs of our
sectors are met, and that their priorities and issues are
heard.
We regularly meet with ministers and officials to communicate
the views of companies within Semta’s footprint, and to lobby for
improvements to the systems which control funding, qualifications,
and training.
We provide UK governments with direct access to companies
working in our footprint, through briefings and conferences.
We also work with UK governments on specific projects which meet
the needs of our sectors, as articulated in our Sector Skills
Agreements.
