Make your mark in the iawards

Summary

The iawards are new awards created to recognise and celebrate the best British achievements in science, technology and innovation.  Working in partnership with leading entrepreneur James Caan, they are the first awards of their kind to be backed by the government.  They will show how new technologies and innovations can translate into the ground-breaking products and services that enhance our daily lives.   In the current economic climate, innovation is increasing in importance, creating more jobs through investment in science and technology.

Businesses and organisations can nominate themselves for an iaward in 13 different categories ranging from Life Sciences or Transport to Best Collaboration and The Next Big Thing.  Each entrant must also show that its innovation can address various challenges affecting Britain – for example healthcare and the ageing population, global competition and national growth, or conserving finite natural resources in the face of a growing population.

For more information and an application form, go to http://www.iawards.org.uk/.  The closing date for entries is 16th September, and the awards ceremony will take place at the Science Museum on 16th November 2009.
