Consultation - Workplace Competence and National Occupational
Standards (UK)
Response due: 30 June 2009
Summary
Semta is currently undertaking a major development programme to
ensure that our standards and N/SVQ qualifications can fit in the
new qualifications and credit frameworks across the United
Kingdom.
Broadly credit (1 credit for every 10 hours of learning) is
measured in terms of the amount of time a learner is expected to
take on average to complete the outcomes set out in the unit. It is
important to recognise that this is not an exact, scientific
measure of how long it has, or should, take a typical candidate to
achieve the outcomes of a unit. It is a best estimate.
Semta invites your views on the learning hours for the following
nine qualifications:
- Engineering Technical Support Level 2
- Engineering Technical Support Level 3
- Engineering Maintenance and Installation Level 2
- Engineering Maintenance Level 3
- Automotive Engineering Level 3
- Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering Level 3
- Laboratory Science Level 2
- Laboratory Science Level 3
- Laboratory Science Level 4
