Apprenticeship Frameworks
As part of its remit as a sector skills council, Semta is
responsible for drawing up frameworks for all apprenticeships in
its sector. These set out the elements apprenticeships should
contain, ensuring that standards are upheld.
We regularly consult with employers, training providers and
awarding bodies to make sure that our frameworks meet employer and
learner needs.
To achieve the skills base the UK needs to compete globally, we
need to boost the number of Engineering Apprentices.
In line with the recommendations of the Leitch report, Semta
plans to double the number of people starting apprenticeships,
including young people and adults.
