Sector Compact

Employers can now access funds to invest in improving skills of employees which deliver real economic benefits. If you are a company based in England, in the following sectors, you can access funding for training with the help of a Semta Specialist Advisor.

Aim: To contribute to the effective delivery of Train to Gain in the East of England, through partnership working of the Manufacturing Alliance.

Higher Apprenticeship in Engineering Technology Pilot Programme

Aim: Establish Higher Apprenticeship pilot programmes with 100+ employed learners in the aerospace, automotive and electronic sectors.

Aim: To engage with Gateshead College for the delivery of Train to Gain Contract.

IAG Employer Visits North East

Aim: To organise 4 employer visits for Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) staff to enhance the quality of the information, advice and guidance delivered on to clients.

Aim: To develop and pilot a model of delivery for an accelerated MA programme in engineering.

Scientific Manufacture Standards and Qualifications

Aim: To develop Level 2, 3 and 4 National Occupational Standards, qualification structures and assessment strategies for laboratory occupations.

Aim: To review and update existing National Occupational Standards and Qualification Structure within PMO Level 1 & 2.

Aim: To review and update existing National Occupational Standards (NOS) and Qualification Structure within Automotive Engineering Level 3 NOS and develop Level 3 NOS and Qualification Structure for the Leisure Vehicles Industry.

PAC (England Regions)

Aim: To increase the capable capacity of LSC providers to 100 validated Trainers/Assessors that can provide appropriate coverage across the MSA footprint within the regions, plus 216 of the T/As being funded by NLSC through the NSAM; develop and deliver PAC awareness programme for non-specialist brokers working in Providers, IDB and skills brokerage organisations to establish routes to market.

Aim: This project will further develop and manage a work based learning pathway pilot in engineering, manufacturing and science.

Aim: To develop an initial group of companies that can demonstrate the business performance benefits (added value) of using best practice against which to develop their organisations.

Aim: To set up and project manage shared apprenticeship scheme in three areas of Wales

Career Progression for Women in the SET Sectors

Aim: The project will engage Welsh employers within Semta's footprint to help develop career plans and boost opportuntiies for women employed. The project will provide a lifetime progression plan for training and development for each individual engaged.
