Access £65 million to develop workforce skills and
improve business performance

lost productivity in England alone.”
Semta has agreed the first Train to Gain Compact to provide
skills funding for the Science, Engineering and Manufacturing
Technologies sector. Employers can now access funds to invest in
improving skills of employees which deliver real economic benefits.
If you are a company based in England, in the following sectors,
you can access funding for training with the help of a Semta
Specialist Advisor;
- Marine
- Electrical
- Electronics
- Aerospace
- Mechanical
- Metals
- Bioscience
- Pharmaceuticals
- Automotive
The Advisor will provide assistance with;
- Developing a plan to improve business performance through
skills development
- Accessing Train to Gain funding
- On-going expertise to help assess further skills needs
- Exploring the benefits of signing the Skills Pledge
Funding will be available to support the following
qualifications;
- NVQ Level 2 and a second Level 2 for key employees, the second
must be in Business Improvement Techniques (BIT). (Companies of all
sizes eligible.)
- NVQ Level 3 and a second Level 3 for key employees, the second
must be in BIT. (Companies of all sizes eligible.)
- All Age Apprenticeships. (Companies of all sizes
eligible.)
- Skills for Life. (Companies of all sizes eligible.)
- Management & Leadership. (Companies with 10 – 250
employees.)
