2009 Labour Market Survey of the Lifesciences,
Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology and Medical Devices
Sector
Throughout November 2009, Semta and Cogent joined forces to
conduct a research survey, to seek the opinions of employers across
England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The survey
focused on gaining a better understanding into issues of
how recruitment, skills, training and Continuing Professional
Development affect business performance in this industry.
This phase of the consultation has now been completed and an
impressive 380 employers from the Lifesciences,
Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology and Medical Devices Sectors
responded to the telephone survey conducted by BMG Research,
keen to ensure that their 'voice' was heard.
The data is now being analysed and will form the
basis of a report that will help to inform Government and
agency policies on education and training provision as well as
being informative for stakeholders and employers interested in
skills issues across these areas of science expertise.
If you are an employer in one of these sectors and are still
keen to contribute during the next phase of the consultation,
please contact us using this
short form to register.
If you are an organisation with an interest in the report and
wish to register your interest please contact us using this
short form.
We will also be keen to hear from universities
and colleges as the work progresses. If you wish to
register your interest in providing comments and feedback,
please complete this
short form.
If you wish to discuss the
research please contact Peter Brogan - pbrogan@semta.org.uk
Information gained from the survey will
be treated confidentially, and the study will be undertaken
strictly in accordance with the Market Research Society code of
conduct.
