Join Sir Alan Jones in Diploma drive
The Diploma Champions Network is now recruiting 150
employers as Diploma Champions from across all regions to promote
the new Diploma qualification to other employers.
The Diploma Employer Champions Network (DECN) is led by Sir Alan
Jones of Toyota, and currently involves 17 leading employers who
are encouraging other organisations to back the Diploma. The
Diploma, which has been developed by employers for employers, aims
to help young people aged 14 to 19 realise their potential and gain
knowledge and skills in a ‘real world’ environment. The Diploma
will start to be delivered from September 2008.
All engineering employers, in any size or type of organisation,
are encouraged to be involved in this opportunity to shape the
education of future generations. By encouraging other employers to
support Diplomas through personal presentations and media coverage,
and providing informal advice to consortia on how to best work with
employers, Champions can help transform education provision to
truly match their requirements.
